It’s going to be an exciting, competitive field at this year’s Hungarian GP.

There will be a former Grand Slam champion – Sofia Kenin (Australian Open, 2020, and French Open finalist in 2020), Roland Garros finalist – Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (2021), and the returning champions from the past two years, Yulia Putintseva and Bernarda Pera. Also, making her first appearance is the successful model Camila Giorgi, who reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals. In total, six players from the top 50 have entered.

Among the Hungarians, currently only Anna Bondár is in the main draw, but there’s a good chance for Dalma Gálfi as well. Additionally, more local players will receive wildcards for the 32-player draw, and there’s still a chance for Hungarian players to qualify from the qualifiers – the entries for the qualifiers will close next Monday.

It’s worth noting that Sofia Kenin and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova are not yet in the main draw, but it’s likely that both will move up by the time of the draw (July 16).
